Chapter 13 - Gen 6 - Lyric

We were all stood in the hallway in silence, I felt completely numb, it was the shock, none of us had said a lot since we had left the hospital, I was still trying to get my head around it - all three of us each holding a baby - two boys and a girl - surely I was dreaming!!!.  Triplets.

Forrest:  "Well you could have made it four, then we would have had one each!!"

Granddad walked into the hall and immediately burst into laughter when he saw the three babies.  He did not seem so surprised, having had two sets of triplets himself, he might even have expected it, or had Melody tipped him off already.  Me being a twin, I had secretly hoped that there would be two but never imagined I would get my wish and more!!!

The little girl arrived first, this sent Mel into a tizzy, my sister Melody had told her we were having a boy, and  being Mel's doctor, she was there to help deliver the babies, Melody just laughed and said I think you should phone Forrest you are going to need him.  She already knew exactly how many babies were coming.

There was only one name that we could really give our daughter, Melody.  We named her after my sister, because without her help, the triplets wouldn't be here.

Then came the boys, first Jazz then Cello.  They are both identical all but for their eyes, not having hair yet their eyes are the only way we can tell them apart.  Cello has Melons Red eye's, Jazz had my mother's pink eyes, which didn't please me, and Jazz was not the only one because Melody too had my mothers pink eyes.  I guessed somehow I would not get away with having a constant reminder of that woman!!!

I loved watching Mel with the babies, it had worried me a little, how she would be, that again was down to my Mother, but I could already see that she loved the babies like I did.  I feel like there is now a new and different connection between me and Mel, but I suppose that is what having children together does for you.

Having three babies to look after and with all four of us working, there was no way Granddad was going to cope with looking after them, even if it would only ever be for a few hours a day.  I decided I was going to take time out from my career and stay home to look after them full time.  I thought maybe Mel should too.

Lyric:  "I want you to quit your job."
Melon: "Why?  I enjoy my job"
Lyric:  "I want you to stay home with the babies, besides you know you really don't need to work, its not like we need the money."
Melon:  "Its not about the money, I enjoy my job, and isn't it enough that you are taking time out, they don't need the both of us."
Lyric:  "They need you more than they need me, you are their mother."
Melon:  "I'll think about it!!"

Forrest - was gone - he seemed quite taken with Melody, she seemed to be the first one that he went straight for every time.  Nobody else could hardly get their hands on Melody.

Lilac has totally shut herself away from the babies, she has not bothered with them once, she has left the rest of us to get on with it.  To say she wants a baby of her own she has shown very little interest in the three that we do have in the house.

The only time she comes into the babies room is generally to speak to one of us, mainly Granddad, who seems to have a new purpose in life and he spends a lot of time with the babies.

I have a public digrace going on again for having a child out of wedlock, but it does not really bother me at all, not like the last one did.  No doubt the major gossip in the town was about us and the babies, that really does not bother me either.  It did give me an idea though.

I thought it was time me and Forrest got married.  So we did.  It was just the two of us, but that's how I said I always wanted it to be anyway.

Lilac made me a little mad, Mel had Melody and both of the boys were crying, Lilac just stood by the cot mixing something in a bowl, hanging it dangerously over the top of the baby if every she had dropped it ......   - she is insane but that made me worry a little!!

Forrest:  "Is she even safe to be around the babies??"
Lyric:  "I am not sure, I was just worrying about that myself!!"
Forrest:  "And you want me to have a kid with her - that has just put me off even more!!"

Forrest has been fine, he is really good with the babies and treats them like they are his own.  He doesn't seem to have had a change of heart either about having his own child, he is happy with the ones we have got already, where as Lilac is still doing his head in going on about them having a child of their own.

Even though I am not going out to do any shows or singing in the park.  I do whenever I get the chance to go out into the back garden and sing a little so that I don't get too rusty.

The triplets had their birthday.

Melody turned out to have my skin and hair colouring, but she also had my mothers pink eyes.  I thought she looked a lot like Melon.

Next Jazz, the poor kid got my mothers pink hair to go with her pink eyes.  Jazz I think looks the most like Melon.

Lastly Cello, even though he got Melons skin and eye colouring, he looks like an ugli, and I was really pleased that he got my Dad's hair colouring.

I think I already know who the next Ugli family heir will be, providing he is not gay of course!!

Chapter 14

I was really happy when 3 babies arrived :)  They both had fertility treatment but I wasn't sure that would make a difference using mc mod pollination.

As soon as they aged to toddlers I decided which one of them will be the 7th generation heir :) They are now teenagers in game and I still have not changed my mind.  You know me it had to be one of the boys - Melody had the same colouring as Lyric and I did not want a 5th yellow skinned heir.  Jazz - is not so ugly so I have him doing a little experiment for me which I will be doing over on one of my other blogs HERE - so Cello is going to be the 7th Generation heir - he is after all the one with the most ugli features, he got the ears and the nose, but he reminds me so much of Piper too.
